SUMMARY:2026 CVBA Beginning Beekeeping Class
DESCRIPTION:The Central Valley Beekeepers Association announces its annual Introductory Beekeeping Class. \nThe Introduction to Beekeeping class provides an in depth overview of beekeeping practices. The class will be held on Saturday\, March 7th\, 2026 from 9 AM to 4 PM. \nThis all-day class provides in-depth information for beginning beekeepers\, and includes a live demonstration\, showing how to open and examine a hive. \nCourse Topics: \n\nHistory & Importance of Bees\nThe Colony\nProducts of the Hive: Honey\, wax\, pollen and propolis\nApiary Locations & Pollination\nBeekeeping Equipment\nObtaining Bees: Swarms\, nucs\, full colonies\nSeasonal Management of Honey Bee Colonies\nPests\, Predators\, and Diseases: Nosema\, Varroa and Tracheal mites\, American Foulbrood\, Chalkbrood\, wax moth\, ants\nIn-hive Demonstration\nHarvesting Honey\nTips for Aspiring Beekeepers\n\nWe expect this class to sell out quickly. If there is sufficient interest\, there IS a possibility of a second class on March 8th.  Stay tuned.
